Czech-Israeli Innovation Internships 2024

The Neuron Foundation and the IOCB Tech Foundation are opening a call for applications for a one month internship for five leading Israeli PhD students to visit the Czech Republic. The Third Year of the Czech-Israeli Innovation Internships program is open in following top notch facilities in the Czech Republic. Apply till 15th April 2024, 11:00 AM Czech time, if you have required expertise and are interested to visit institutions bellow.

The Israeli ambassador in Prague, Anna Azari, together with the director of the Neuron Foundation, Monika Vondraková, and the director of the ÚOCHB, Jan Konvalinka, welcomed the Czech Ph.D. students who went on a retreat to prestigious Israeli institutions in the summer of 2023. This year, as part of the Czech-Isreali Innovation Internship program, we will invite Israeli students to the Czech Republic.

1. Start-ups, Transfer of Know-How and Innovation Ecosystems and you have a background in Economics or Business, you can apply for the Internship at the Moravian Business College Olomouc, Olomouc.

2. Constructive Methods of Mathematical Analysis, Abstract Analysis, Evolution Differential Equations, Mathematical Logic and Theoretical Computer Science or Algebra, Geometry and Mathematical Physics and you have a background in Mathematics or Mathematical Physics, you can apply for the internship at Institute of Mathematics - Czech Academy of Sciences, Prague.

3. Chemistry of Functional Molecules and  Synthesis of Chiral Aromatics and you have a background in Organic Chemistry or Biochemistry, you can apply for the internship at the Chemistry of Functional Molecules Research Group - Institute of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry, Prague.

4. Solving open problems in the area of Structural Ramsey Theory and related area of the extension property of partial automorphisms and you have a background in Combinatorics, Topological Dynamics, Fraisse Theory or Infinite-Domain Constraint Satisfaction Problems, you can apply for the internship at the Computer Science Institute - Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, Charles University, Prague.

5. AI Planning and you have the background in Multi.Agen Coordination, Hierarchical Planning or Knowledge Engineering for Planning, you can apply for the internship at the Department of Theoretical Computer Science and Mathematical Logic - Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, Charles University, Prague.

6. Robust Machine Learning and you have the background in Deep Learning Models for Image Classification, Creating Adversarial Examples for Image Classification, Creating Robust Image Classification Models or Experience with Adversarial Examples in other areas, you can apply for the internship at the Department of Theoretical Computer Science and Mathematical Logic - Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, Charles University, Prague.

7. Advanced Biomaterials and Development of new Nanostructured Polymer-Composite Biomaterials and you have the background in Chemistry, Materials Chemistry and Analytical Chemistry, Biophysics or Molecular Toxicology, you can apply for the internship at the Advanced Biomaterials Group - Central European Institute of Technology, Brno.

Apply for the internship through our online form and please attach your CV including references, motivation letter, PhD project’s description to add to the application until the deadline on the 15th April 2024, 11:00 AM Czech time. Arrivals are possible after 12th May and departures until 14th June 2024.

What does the internship cover?

The internship covers:

  • A one-month internship in a Czech top-notch scientific institution 
  • Airplane tickets 
  • Housing (dormitory type)
  • Public transportation tickets
  • Cultural programs, such as sightseeing tours to the Prague Jewish Museum and Terezín Camp  

What is next step?

The selection procedure has two rounds. In the first round, the Neuron Foundation’s Academic Council and your future supervisor will evaluate your application. In the second round we will also interview you online.
