 Stefan Söldner-Rembold

Professor of Physics, Head of the Department of Physics, Imperial College London

Professor Stefan Söldner-Rembold is a particle physicist specialising in neutrino physics and high-energy particle physics. He is Professor of Physics and Head of the Department of Physics at Imperial College London, having previously held senior academic and leadership roles at the University of Manchester. He studied physics at the University of Bonn, obtained his doctorate from the Technical University of Munich and completed his Habilitation at the University of Freiburg.

His career has included research appointments at CERN and major roles in international experimental collaborations. From 2018 to 2022, he served as spokesperson of the DUNE Collaboration, one of the world’s leading neutrino experiments, and he previously led the DZero Collaboration at Fermilab. His scientific work includes major contributions to neutrino physics, searches for the Higgs boson and the research programme of large-scale international physics experiment.

He has served on numerous scientific advisory and review boards in Europe, the United Kingdom and the United States. His distinctions include Fellowship of the Institute of Physics and the American Physical Society, a Royal Society Wolfson Research Merit Award, the James Chadwick Medal and Prize, and the Max Born Medal and Prize.
