Laureate
Ing. Petr Šulc, Ph.D.
Recipient of the Neuron Award for Promising Scientists in the Field of Physics

His research primarily focuses on biophysics and bionanotechnology. His team uses a specialized model to create DNA and RNA nanostructures, which can then be experimentally implemented for applications in diagnostics, drug development, and the creation of new materials.
He is a professor at Arizona State University and leads a research group at the Technical University of Munich, where he secured an ERC Starting Grant for his project. He studied at the Faculty of Nuclear Sciences and Physical Engineering at the Czech Technical University and École Polytechnique in France. He earned his doctorate in theoretical physics at the University of Oxford.
He has worked at Rockefeller University in New York and several other European scientific institutions, receiving numerous scientific awards and grants. He is the author of over 70 scientific articles, including publications in Science and Nature Nanotechnology.
